You can expect anxiety treatment to be active. I encourage clients to work on skills outside of sessions to meet desired results. After a thorough assessment, I will create a treatment plan that best fits your needs. My experience as a therapist allows me to offer an integrated delivery of anxiety-management techniques. This includes providing resources to cope with anxiety like mindfulness, grounding techniques, and self-care.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with my clients. It is helpful in allowing us to see the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and actions. I also use a variation of CBT called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT includes components of mindfulness and prioritizing your own values. Both CBT and ACT will provide you with strategies to move forward and not be consumed by your anxious mind.

Other methods I use include Exposure and Response Prevention (EXRP), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Research has shown that these approaches are the most effective therapies for OCD and Anxiety Disorders.

I will help you learn to stop the avoidance cycle that works to maintain your current anxiety. Instead, we will learn to surf the waves. I will also work to help you experience healing at the level of the nervous system. You will gain important self-empowerment tools to handle future situations. Your anxiety therapist will help you feel more grounded and present in everyday life.

How anxiety treatment can help:

  • Become more present and calm. Better understand your thoughts, feelings, and body by using mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

  • Increased engagement in relationships and in activities that were once avoided.

  • Feel hopeful and confident in yourself and your choices by thinking in a more clear way.
